hmmmm

Considering I know both our schools run the Infinite Campus software, is it possible that they have the same network infrastructure?

merely crashing the school's network is far too unsophisticated
highbrow nobby gentlefolks like us should do something much more clever
like MASS RICKROLLING
my idea is to put a program in the startup folder of all the computers
this program would display what APPEARS to be a timed shutdown in 10 seconds
but after 10 seconds it would instead play a rickroll
PURE GENIUS

Redirect the shutdown tags to a code that loads a video? Anyone want to code that for me in windows? The shutdown tag should be easy enough to find, but I can't write shit in pretty much any language.

Or you could insert a random redirect, which 20% of the time goes to a rickroll. That way, it wouldn't be enough of a problem that they'd immediately stop and fix it, they'd just get rickrolled a lot.

Depending on what you have access to.

no, this program in startup would create a window which APPEARS TO BE A WINDOWS TIMED SHUTDOWN
but it is actually NOT A TIMED SHUTDOWN AT ALL, JUST A SET OF PIXELS IDENTICAL TO THOSE DISPLAYED IN A TIMED SHUTDOWN
and then it just changes into like a fullscreen rickroll at maximum volume

@prometheus: I think it would be best to have the program randomized, but at a lower probability
like 95% of the time it would just instantly close itself as soon as it opened
then it would be able to hide from the lawful authorities

I was thinking that if it worked normally most of the time, they wouldn't have an incentive to get rid of it immediately, thus resulting in additional rickrolls.

By "close itself," are you referring to the additional program, or the thing that they're trying to launch?

i mean the hypothetical rickroll program

if you didn't get lucky, it would simply close right away and nobody would even know what happened
there would be no outward sign that it had done anything
but 5% of the time your computer starts up,
you see a message saying Shutdown In 10...9...8...7...etc.
and then you get rickrolled
the best part is that your average person would not connect this with a program in startup and even if they did, they would only think to remove it from one computer
and EVEN BETTER THAN THE BEST when tech support gets called in, the program has a 95% chance not to go off and tech support would conclude that nothing is wrong and leave

I also like 5% because it's the same chance of rolling a 1 on a d20. </random>
